wind lace

I am reinstalling the windlace, in my 31 S/W 4 dr.
the interior headers hang below the door opening and thus put the bulb of the windlace out in the air.
Question: the covered headers should be (below) or (right on) the door opening. It is a almost new Le ***** interior.
hope photos will assist in answers.
First time I did it my way and was not pretty.:(

thank you, I see the ends are butt jointed is this so?
my thinking it was one continuous windlace. from sill to sill.

Yes but joint. the tubing is cut to length while the material is left long, so it can be tucked in. The photo is from my 28 tudor

160 B is correct; have seen other original SW's, and mine is exactly like his. If I understand your question, the windlace hangs below the door head to seal against the frame and there is no windlace between the meeting door post pillar and the top of door horiz. strips.

Not to hijack this thread but I received the PM below and will answer on this thread to share the info with other fordbarners

Hi it's Duke again; saw your post re windlace and it appears you have a seat back pouch. I'm just installing one on my latest sw because I have no rear pockets, but have stitched door panels. My 1st sw interior was like your many years back, btw.
If not too much bother, would you send me the dimension to locate the pouch from the top of the seat to the pouch? I have 4 sheet metal screws and 2 snaps to mount to the seat back. I can't seem to post a photo on the pm message board .
Many thanks, duke, N. Cal.

this should help

thank you for all the reply's, to up clear the question. the picture on #1 far right, the light color is the interior header and it is hanging down below the opening. is this the way is should be????? or trimmed back and be flush?

160B,on the rear corner panel, what are the two grey dots in the third picture

Well I went and looked at the car and I guess I would call the "two gray dots" mystery dots, as they are not there. Might have been some reflective light off the inside window.

See attached photo.

PS as to the spelling of grey, or gray. I looked on the internet and they are both correct with the following, explanation:
When all else fails...
grAy is how it's spelled in America
grEy is how it's spelled in England

we learn every day!!
