Winches to load a model a

Jim it is hooked to a 2012 f150 with the tow package the center wire is for auxillary power and it is fused.

That is from the tow vehicle - the color coding/terminal match on it
may not be consistent from the male connector on your truck to the female
cord/cap on your trailer - that is why you need a voltage tester.

Also right now Harbor Freight has a 12000 pound winch for $239 good price
For an extra $39.99 you can get a wireless remote control to go with the winch

That is what I have in my enclosed trailer .... ;)

I understand what it is you are saying about the wiring I am building this trailer from scratch and it is not the first time, believe me I check every thing, Ford calls the center wire an auxillary it would be 12v as well will need to look at the fuse box to see what the fuse is rated at , the point about the black wire for charging is valid and i like that idea.
