Will The Shock Absorber Ball Hit The Spring?

I have been frustrated over this for a day. The ball to mount the shock absorber is hitting the spring. What am I doing wrong? When I lift up the axle there is more clearance but it looks like if the car bounces, it will hit

John, I just went out and took a picture of mine (needs some cleanin'). With the weight of the car on the spring it flattens out and moves the shackle down and away from the shock mount. Hope this helps.

Ya they don't stay clean forever. Looking at your picture makes me think of spending a summer day in the future cleaning.

You've got a lot of tension in that spring.
Is it new or reset?

This happens when the body is off of the frame. Once the body is on the frame, there should be clearance enough to accommodate a shock absorber link.

The shackle should be 45 deg. with the car sitting normally. If not the spring is not in spec.
