Will all Veterans please arise.

Note and request to Ryan: As there are over 100 Veterans posting on this thread alone, May we please have an option to add a service button to our Avitar as some other forums of this type have?

This is a good idea, but probably should send this request directly to Ryan, just incase he misses reading this post.

Thanks, John, I did also send a PM to Ryan. Not sure if it went through the right channels, though?

Wow, lots of vets here! Almost too many years with Uncle for me to remember, but was Air Force for 8 years then spent a career over 31 years with the Army as a civilian. Retired in March 2015.

Salute to ALL military members, - current, past, living and especially those who gave all in defense of our great country.

Well now, sounds like we have some sour grapes here. I wonder why someone of this attitude would even want to view this thread at all?

HOOP seems to have no respect for veterans, so he is the one who SUCKS, BIG TIME. RAY 2/14 Armored Cav. Germany. 1970-1972. Tank Commander M551 Sheridan Tank.

After 4 years in Strategic Air Command 1961-1965 - SNAFU + FUBAR = FIGMO

Strategic Air Command - "Peace Is Our Profession, War is Our Business"....

I agree with 'Hoop' above^

Remember, veterans, that one of the freedoms that you were fighting to protect was Hoop's and petehoovie's rights to express their opinions as they wish, and, of course, your right to express yours. I respect that right and am very grateful for it even though I do not always agree with the opinions others express. We should all have the same respect for other's opinions that we want to have of our own, even while disagreeing with them. There was some rule called the Golden Rule that went something like that.;)

One of the great blessings we enjoy in our country is the ability to freely express our opinions. You may not agree with or even like Hoop's, but preserving that right is one of the reasons that I served. He has contributed to this forum on many topics and while I disagree with his comment on this one I stand by his right to make it. IMO negative ad hominem remarks serve no purpose and are out of line with the give and take we enjoy on this site.
