Will a 46-48 rear swap into a 41?

I did a search and I know the overall width is longer on 46-8 rear banjo. But my 41 almost looks like it could use the extra couple inches to fill up the rear fenders. The spring hanger width is the same, are there any torque tube differences? I'm looking for a spare to rebuild to replace mine with galled bearing races.

I did bookmark this article for reference:

The added width of the '42-48 differentials is not a problem.. The '42-48 had better brakes, this is due to the fact that the '41 rear brakes is the same as the '39-40.
There might be some difference to the driveline/torque tube which could require a swap using the '41 on the '42-48.
I have a '47-48 Merc/Columbia rear end under my '36... I used the '36 banjo assembly with the '36 torque tube/driveline and '37 radius bars.. A bolt together application..
