Why shipping cost is so high!!!!

The Post Office doesn't look so bad. Wait until they are gone and then things will really be bad..JMO

Fedx always tosses it over the gate or leaves it down on the road.Left my L/B leather interior onthe road and now today suppose to get a gas tank delivered fedx.I asked to use UPS but they only use Fedx.I"llbe waiting at the gate.Don't really like either but have to use them

I bought some small parts that came from Ca. and was charged 6.38 in shipping fees. THey arrived in 2 days in a padded envelope with 1.08 in stamps for postage. I'm glad they came promptly, but the fee was what frosted my cake! I think alot of the vendors are making money on charging high shipping.

I think many places charge a minimum $5 handling fee they "roll" into the shipping costs. I do not buy from them if I can help it - I've had too many instances where the shipping was more than the parts!

As for UPS, if you deliver to a business it is definitely cheaper. If you are not retired, check where you work and see if they have a discounted UPS/Fedex shipping account. If they will allow you to use as a "perk" for working there, you can get their discounted rate but charge it to your own personal CC. I work for a college and my rate is about 1/2 of what I'd pay at a UPS store.

If I really want a part but the shipping is too high, I tell the vendor/person to give me the size and weight of the box and I'll send them a shipping label (using my discounted rate). If they won't deal, I go somewhere else.

Hi all; Just a note. Canadian Postal and other shipping uses special ' entry' Ports, these have Customs inspectors ect. It really slows down international shipping. Later Newc
