Who use's a 6v alternator?

My generator is 87 years old and my 6 volt battery is over 12 years old, and everything starts and works great, including the horn. Can't beat the reliability of a good generator.
Tom,
The HEART of your reliability is that HIDDEN EVR in your Dynamo!
See, some "modern" stuff is a good thing for Model A's, especially if it's hidden:D NO! I'm NOT a salesman for Tom.

If you decide to go with an alternator, you may want to check out Larry Becker in Norwalk, Ohio. A friend of mine just got a 6 volt, 60 amp alternator from them. It was less than $130.00. That included shipping and a bracket to line it up correctly. The price was right and they were good people to deal with.

Yeah, it was Larry Becker at 419-668-5986. It's evidently a small place and they do not have a website. His father and him have been in the business for years. His father has passed and he has now taken over. They were very nice and very prompt! Good luck!

I have one also, probably there since the 80's.Last year I was having some charging issues so I pulled it off and took it to an electrical shop. They said it was "gummed" up inside. Think it cost me 30-40$.
Perfect charging now. 6V pos Grnd.
