Whitewalls

Wow, old thread!

I don't see much debate about WW on light trucks. BW is the only way to go, of course :p. Most trucks, especially pickups, that I see with WW are also laden with accessories.

Yup 4 1/2 years and 8 pages. Maybe I'll start one about pudding or ice cream, Chocolate or vanilla.

I don't care what others want. I know what I want and I don't care if I am in the minority or the majority. I also do not read posts that start with; "Did you ever" or "Has anyone ever - - - " Have your druthers and stick to em.

i am putting white walls on my 1930 Fordor black wheels .My 28A roadster original tires are black Atlas tires and red tubes

When the barber cuts the hair over my ears so short that the skin shows, I call it my "whitewalls." :D

Since this is the thread that wouldn't die, whitewalls on my Sport Coupe because they're, well...sporty!

Whitewalls on my 1930 Cabriolet with orange wheels. Blackwalls on my 31 all Black Tudor and Red Speedster. And, BTW, I am only 85 years young.

Putting new white walls on my 31 on the 4th of july to celebrate my independence day from the conformity of the judging standards and those who say it is isn't OEM.

Bought it (my roadster) with WW's and added 16 inch rims, sticking with the whitewalls, was an old 58 at the time, am still running them at young 82, yesterday. Still have both sets and trade off sometimes. 16's a much better ride and don't follow groves in the road so much. Stop much better also.

I know that this a topic with strong sentiments on both sides. But as for white walls, are there any tire manufacturers who currently produce a "double" whitewall. I know that Denman used to produce these back in the 60's and maybe early 70's, but I have not seen new "double white walls" in quite a few years.

Our '31 roadster runs with white walls because we bought it that way and my wife likes them. It is her ride and she gets to decide these things on her car. I just fix things and keep it running for her.

Fitting the cost of things into ones budget is always critical. Not sure the BW vs WW price comparison is accurate. Yes, you can get a Lucas BW for 99, but the do not make a WW.

Firestone, Bridgestone, Lester make both and the price difference is 34 or 40. Still for 4 tires, $160 buys a lot of gasoline to drive the A vs just looking at it.

I need a pair of rear tires, but would like a set (5) Lester WWs. Does the benefit or joy of changing offset the cost difference? That is an individual question to answer.

I will let you know how the Lester’s feel.

After much consideration, we decided to go with the white walls, not sure if I will do it again when the time comes to replace the though?

I may be a blackwall guy, but the whitewalls look right on your car. Being a Victoria may help some too. :)
