White walls

I've used SOS pads with great success, understanding the sidewall detriment. Heard that lacquer thinner would wipe the yellow off very quickly. Tried it on a 20 year old whitewall and boy did it work! That kind of solvent on a tire has to destroy something in the rubber, wouldn't it? Just doesn't seem safe to use.

30-9 Let us know how the tires come out. My experience with yellow whitewalls are that they stay yellow for ever! The yellow is all the way through them.

I use the Mr. Clean magic eraser pads to keep the white "white". As others have said, once they get yellow they will stay that shade. Scott

Have always used Westley's as well.

Just did some research as well, to find out that in 2011 Black Magic bought out Westley's. According to some reviews that I have read, it appears that it may not be as good as it once was. What a shame...been using it for as long as I can remember.

Went back to my shelf to look at the bottle of Westley's that I used this past summer on the white walls of the 39'. Sure enough, it says Black Magic. Must not have noticed any difference while using it? Huh...ah well. Dad recently bought a 34 Buick that needs it's whitewalls cleaned. Will give it a test this spring and report back.
