Which water pump is this?

It has begun leaking - and not insignificantly. Must be addressed.

I didn't install it and don't know its history. The knurled nut could be one of those add-on jobs or the pump may be one of those 'leakless' that leak. Packing or seal?

Can anybody identify it and the correct action to repair?

Thanks!

It looks like the common 28-9 pump with the brass packing nut, and someone installed modern zerks. Take it apart and see if the shaft and rear bushing are usable. I always use the locking collar on the front of the shaft, and would also use the rear bushing with the double lip seal. This should prevent any grease from entering the coolant. Use lead packing rings (takes 2 or 3) and smear a lot of grease around the lead rings as you install them. That's all there is to it. Of course I always sandblast and paint the housing and check and pack the front bearings.

Thanks Tom. I want to be sure what I have so I can first have parts in-hand before tearing it down and putting the vehicle out of service, so I can't right now do the inspection you suggest. Once I get some few more confirmations I think I will follow-up with posting the suggested part and see if everyone agrees, because the various vendors seem to have a lot of variations!
