I know Berg attends Hershey, who else in the Model A parts world is there? How about Brattons or Berts? Seems like a good place to pickup expensive to ship items (springs, heads, tyres, drums, muffler, seat springs, etc.) to save on shipping and sales tax.
Therein lies the problem in that all vendors (-business or hobbyist alike) must charge for, and collect PA sales tax even if their residence is outside of PA. It stopped me from vending there. II know some hobbyists choose to disregard collecting sales tax however a business has too much to lose in the deal. Most businesses will now just set-up and either take orders or show merchandise.
What if the vendor gets paid before Hershey even starts? And they just deliver the items to Hershey for pick-up.
Nope, point of sale for sales tax is where they physically transfer from buyer to seller. The only way to avoid sales tax is an out of state vendor (out of the destination state) puts goods on a common carrier (PO, UPS FedEx, truck) and it gets delivered to you.
And, some states have a streamlined sales tax that says you should send a computed tax to your state. How bout them apples!!!
There is an engine rebuilder that also has some parts in the green field at the corner of the exit road,he is out of Pa. but his name escapes me at the moment
I will be there on Wednesday and Thursday, spaced CT51-55. Yes I do hand out catalogs but I also bring pre-ordered parts that can be picked up there.
