Which Stud Extractor

I followed my advice and attempted to "find" an Ares 70016 online.

VERY few sellers of new. One Ebay seller put an original unused at over $100. Another similar was $38 plus ship.

However, a "clone" surfaced on Ebay under "Stud Extractor Tool" which many sellers list as "Performance Tool W83203" the Performance Tool happening to be the seller who put it in a plastic bubble.

One assumes this is the "Chinese Knock-Off." And like most anything taken from Chinese, one takes a chance to quality.

User ratings only report average rating of 3.5 - and one user indicating the tool "slipped" on a 5/16" stud - at least until it was re-set.

One imagines a high quality hardened TOOTHED jaw is required - something that might be lacking or deficient on a Chinese Import.

Still, again like most anything Chinese, the price of these clones make one take notice - one seller down around $15.99 - shipping included. Most run in the $18 to $22 range - again with free shipping.

You pays your money, you takes your chances. And Caviet Emptor applies.

That's the best one and use a air tool as it rachets and I got all the studs out even a couple of stubborn studs. Great tool
