Which Pulley Groove ?

8BA flathead with P/U water pumps w/5/8" wide belt. Crankshaft pulley has 2 belt grooves immediately adjacent to each other. Q: Should the water pump pulleys line up with the front or rear groove on the crank pulley? Thanks in advance.
