Some fellow did his own research paper on flathead oil filters years ago. The best filters were AC Delco, Purolator, and Wix.

I would use the Car Quest. My son and daughter in law own a Car Quest store!!!

i wouldnt use a filter that had the out side cover made of cardboard, use the one with the metal covering, CarQuest

Then you wouldn't use quite a few spinons' as many have cardboard end caps .

Doesn't have any hindrance to quality.

I have used both those style of filters and both worked just fine.

Most all Caterpillar filters of that style are cardboard covered.
