Which hose connects- '57 Ford?

Okay experts, this is a 292 Ford Fairlane engine; I have a vacuum line dilemma.

Please see my pics: I have three connections on the same line and they have good vacuum suction. What hose connects where?

The line comes off of my fuel pump and heads towards the windshield wipers?

If anyone can give me some help- it'd be very appreciated.

Thanks,
Jim

The line coming from your fuel pump connects to the windscreen wiper. They have this setup in an effort to provide constant vacuum for the wiper motor. If you have the wipers connected to another vacuum source disconnect it. The othe vacuum source would be for the heater valve if needed. If you dont need it plug it up.

Rick- does the line from the fuel pump go to the front bottom of the wiper motor? If so, what goes to the top side of the wiper motor? (towards center of car- empty vacuum port on top of wiper motor)

On my wiper motor one port is left open to the atmosphere. From memory the hose from the pump connects to the top of the wiper motor. It has been a while since I have stuck my head under the dash. If noone posts a reply by tomorrow i will dig out my manual and quote from the good book.

Thanks Rick- that'd be a huge help. There are two ports on the wiper motor: one on the front bottom and one on the left top (motor side). My hose was connected to the top but my wipers ran all the time. Just want to get it correct. Thanks!

Vacuum line runs from intake manifold to the outer of of the two ports on the fuel pump. (fender side)The inner port (engine side) goes towards the firewall. From there it splits at a T junction. One hose goes the wiper motor,(upper port) and the other goes through the firewall to the heater control valve.
The fuel pump is just a boost helper to try and give constant vacuum to the wipers when manifold vacuum goes away under acceleration.
The lower port on the wiper motor is left open. This is air intake.
