If I put a Model B head on an A motor which head gasket do I use? I thought I remember reading use the gasket for the block your using but can't seem to locate that info. Thanks Ken

Correct. B head-B gasket. I use the newer silicone gasket, others have good luck with the copper clad gasket. Whichever you use coat the inside of each stud hole and water passage hole with black silicone,or permatex. If they leak it is usually between the layers, not where they contact head or block.

Yes, B with B but if you are doing the reverse (A head on B engine) the 4 small holes down the center must be plugged flush with the block to support the A gasket or it will blow out and/or leak water. The gasket must always match the head. Most aftermarket heads back in the day required the A gasket.
