Where to get gaskets/seals for Speedometer

I recently took my '39 Pickup speedometer and instrument cluster apart and cleaned them up. Speedo looks good, works well.

The gaskets, however were toast. Does anyone know where I could get new ones.. I only need the gaskets, no glass or bezels, etc. Thanks.

If the old gaskets are good enough to use as patterns, you may be able to cut your own, I believe NAPA still has gasket material. I bought a cheap set of round punches maybe from HF, it sure beats cutting round holes in the material with an exacto knife.

I made some out of some thick card stock that was the back of a sketch book. Used my wife's scrapbooking cutters and patterns and they turned out very nice.

You can get thin cork sheets at your hobby store. A beam compass with a blade will do a nice job.

They are usually very thin gaskets made from cellulose paper. Probably around 1/64" (aprox .016") thick. They had a tendency to shrink but after 70+ years what doesn't. Felpro Karropac paper gasket material is space age by comparison and you can buy that at most of your local auto parts stores and sometimes hardware stores but it may be off brand. Victor/Reinz and Garloc all make similar stuff but you will have to make a pattern and cut it out yourself.
