where to buy body blocks

In my searches here I've found many threads discussing the wood body blocks for my 1931 2-dr sedan. These threads all deal with how to install but not where to get. Yes, in addition to the 1930 sedan in my avatar I've got a 31 project that I've never mentioned here.

I've found body blocks listed from quite a few vendors. All seem to be purported to be A-5001-17. Specifically I've found them listed on at least seven of the popular vendors; names and prices withheld (for now at least).

Prices range from $65 to $80.

My question: based on your personal experience is there any difference in what I get from various vendors, or should I just order the least expensive and expect to be happy with them?

b-t-w; as you all know when figuring the cost of one of these cars the $15 price difference isn't really that much of a factor.

I bought a set for my ‘31 AATruck from Snyder’s , I compared them to the originals, and they were spot on. I don’t know if all venders handle blocks from the same provider, or if Snyder’s makes their own.
I also bought reinforced rubber belting from Tractor Supply to make my own pads.
I don’t think anyone sells those made of reinforced rubber.

I’ve always been satisfied with Snyder’s.

I agree.

Also, I bought Fabric reinforced diaphragm material in several different thicknesses from Mc Master-Carr and made my own pads.

Snyder's must the THE PLACE to get these blocks. They are "Temporarily Out Of Stock" and they don't even list a price.

Thanks. Bert's is one of the vendors I've researched.

fwiw the vendors that have them in stock (at least per my research) are, in no particular order:

  • C. W. Moss
  • Mike's
  • Gaslight
  • Bert's
  • Early Ford Store
  • Tams

  • Snyders (out of stock)
  • and at least three other big name vendors who don't list these in their on-line catalogs.
