Where to buy a radiator?

Where can I get a radiator for my 34 truck that is made like the original with the filler in the top so I can use my original radiator cap?All the ones I find are street rod radiators with no top filler and made for a Chevy engine.

There is a place in Arizona called Cool Kraft that makes radiators for most old fords. I got one for my 49 a four core for less than my local radiator shop wanted for a re-core.

check w/ brassworks they may have one or have the pattern to fab you one. Sit down when you get the price. There not cheap but you pay for what you get:D:D

I second brassworks. Expensive, but fit like a glove and solved my overheating problems in city traffic. I run one in the Cabriolet and just bought one for the Woodie

Thanks, I have tried both of those places. Cool Craft doesn't make one for mine and I really can't afford Brassworks. I appreciate the leads though.

If you own a Cabriolet and a Woodie, and still think the Brassworks is expensive, it must REALLY be EXPENSIVE!

If you have the old radiator you can take it to a radiator shop that has been around for a good many year and they can re-core the original radiator for you. HRP

Thanks, but I don't need it re-cored really. All of the side and bottom mounting metal is rotted away and thats why I need to replace it.I could re-core it if I could find a way to mount it.If I can't find a new one I may just try to find an original or try to make some hardware for this one.I just thought finding a new original style radiator would be a piece of cake but looks like not for a 34 unless you want a street rodded radiator.

Back in the sixties, my pickup ending up being stopped by an electrical pole. I could not find a 1934 radiator but a local shop found a 1935 Rad. Dont know if it was a car or truck, but it fit quite well, and I am still using it. Probably not a concours, but it works for me. Byron.

A couple thoughts...

First, it is fairly easy to mount the radiator cap to the grille and use it as a dummy with a street rod style radiator. If you are not running a flathead (or 4) there should be little advantage in considering an original radiator cap.

Second, when looking for a replacement the passenger and light pickup used the same radiator, I dont know about the 1-1/2 ton... (someone with knowledge step right on in).

Third it sounds like what you really need is a parts radiator... good support with junk tanks and core. Then the trip to the friendly radiator repair shop.

Good Luck

Try Vol Radiator in Knoxville TN, very good service 865 522 0975 and reasonable prices for both rad. work and cleaning gas tanks.

Here are some side bracket I made up I made a die to stamp out the shape ,its not perfect, but for a truck its not seen .I might be tempted to make one for someone ,The bottom support is only a strip of 1/8

Ted, those look great! you're a clever kiwi aren't you? I'm not being a smartarse- those look good! Good on ya mate! Wish I hadda known a while back... Brian

Yeah Brian ,How are you .You would be better at this stuff than me ,I still remember all the help I got from you when building my coup .What cars are you working on I didn't think you had any 34s ? ?I have lots more ideas ,that I will put through my dealers in the USA I guess ! ,.

When I was looking for my cars, Brassworks was a little higher, but also did things that competitors didn't. For instance, they put in the indentation for the fan in the bottom of the top tank on a '36. I didn't mean to imply that they were out of line expensive, and I believe that you get what you pay for. I was comparing to prices for Walkers that I had seen at shows and on ebay when I made that comment.
