Where Is Frame Serial Number Location - '39 DeLuxe?

Howdy, Boys:

Trying to find serial number stamping on my '39 DeLuxe frame. It must be heavily coated with black frame paint.....

Left frame rail?

Near motor mount cross member?

Under horns?

To the rear of steering box mount location?

Mike, it could be any of the above depending on the location of the assembly plant, but most would be right at the steering box or just aft of it.

After cleaning off any grease and dirt, (don't use abrasives) try a small flashlight horizontal to the frame at night. This will show surface irregularities and you can zero in on the exact location.

Also, rubbing some chalk on the frame rail may help to bring up the numbers.

On my 39 standard its near the 3 crossmember rivets on frame.

Like George/Maine; at the cross member, and between the three rivets heads and the outside of the frame, toward the left wheel.... my 39 fordor, ....OLD....BILL

If you have the original transmission, It's on the trans case, front near the top... Also
