When was the last Model A made?

1968.

That was when a fellow I knew in Hayward, California put together a complete 1930 Ford Model A Deluxe Coupe from entirely NOS parts. It took him 20 years to pull all the stuff together from various Ford Dealerships across the county (it was easy to do in the 1950's), but miraculously he did it ! - Except the seat upholstery.

Sadly, the car only lasted on the road about two years before the 18 years old son of the builder, completely totaled the car.

At 18 years of age, he would have had no idea what he was driving or what he did. Now that he had an older head on his shoulders, I wonder what he thinks of his actions that day (if he thinks of them at all).

Model AA trucks were built at Fords English plant at Dagenham into 1936 . I did have a 1936 AA truck but sadly it was beyond all hope . It had been left in an old mans back garden for about 40 years, as I recovered it the frame came apart . Its serial number on the block was AA 4981139 . These were the last "real" ones as the GAZ was not Ford .

John in lovely spring weather high pressure Suffolk County England .
