My husband's son asked a question I have been unable to find an answer to on the web. He wanted to know when did Ford stop including tools with the auto they sell.

sometime in the early to mid 1950's. They were slowly cutting back on the number of tools supplied during the '40's but you could buy them from the Dealer. By the '50's the days of owner servicing or fixing was just about finished.

Our '42 came with a pretty respectable tool kit; jack, pliers, head wrench, etc., plus there were some additional things you could buy from the dealer, like the crank and extension for manual starting (can't imagine crank starting a V8 but you could do it). I think by the end of the 50's they were pretty much down to the jack and lugwrench though.
