Hi,
What Size wheels where used on 1932 and 1933 Ford Cars? I would like to find a 5 wheel set to use on my 1929 Model A coupe.
Thanks Guys

Hi,
My thought was that a drop from the original 21" to 17" or 18" and mount a wider tire would keep the car looking more Model-A. The full move to 16" rims tends to make the 29 "A" look to Hotrod for my taste. My car is a near stock driver with Mitchell Overdrive and runs nicely at 60-65 on the freeway. I would just like to have a bit more tire patch on the pavement.
J. Wing Houston Texas,

The '32 was 18 and the '33-'34's were 17 inch. Probably the only part on a '32 that costs less than the corresponding part on a Model A is the rims. They are probably worth about half of what your 21's are worth. You got lucky. You might price the tires for both 17" and 18" and see if there is any major difference in the price. Remember you will need new hub caps. They are available from Bob Drake (http://www.bobdrake.com/) and most other suppliers. You may need to let a little air out of the tires and carry a pump if you have a fender mounted spare but I am not sure. Be sure to keep the 21's under the bench as you may change you mind later (been there, done that). My opinion, I would keep the 21's or go to 16 inch Kelsey's but it is just a mater of taste.
