Wheel bearing grease

What is everyone using for wheel bearing grease. Cant find the fibery type like i used to have around. Seems like some of the modern stuff are pretty thin. Tks tp

I use Sta Lube # SL 3131 Drum brake wheel bearing grease,CRC makes it and I got it from NAPA.It is the old fashioned stringy stuff that you should use on at least the rear wheel bearings,no hi tech stuff needed here. This stuff will cling to the rollers .A few years ago the synthetic grease and oil guru in V8 Times was pushing to use Amsoil synthetic for the old technology Ford wheel bearings and he started to get some feed back about "gray metal grease" after a few miles of driving. I think this is one area where you cannot improve over what was used years ago.

I like high temp wheel bearing grease, what I have is StaLube... could go for almost any brand, though... It's thinner than the old fibered stuff, I like the high temp better, lots of it with the old felt seals gone- the newer seals hold the grease, and it falls back into the bearings... Karl

Don, Here's a pic of the can of the wheel bearing grease, StaLube #SL3131. It is a short fiber grease. I got mine at NAPA as well. Dennis/Arkansas
