Trying to install the Bug screen in my Sparton Horn. What's the trick?
From the Front? How do you shrink the Screen? From the Back ? Help.

Install the screen BEFORE you paint the horn. When you paint the horn, if some of the screen holes fill in with paint, just give it a quick blast of air right away. Actually on the original paint job some of the screen holes filled in with paint.

I just **** it in the grove, then using the flat of a screwdriver work it in
like Tom says dont paint it first as it WILL scratch the paint
you will have to sand some of the scratches out even so

I put about half in the groove and compress the other half slightly with my hand. I install from the front and have put in about 12 recently with 4 more to go.

I bought 12 horns from one guy a couple years ago and have recently bought 2 early EA humpback horns, one from a forum member. Interesting to note that one of the humpback horns had the screen spot welded in. I've been trying to sell the horns with a new paint job.

Years ago I used a can and piece of broom handle --I picked a can slightly smaller than the outer diameter, and used the broom handle to push in the center to curve the screen slightly more so the diameter got smaller ---then it went in easy ---I just went and looked, I did it after paint --I don't remember if I used cloth or rubber on the can rim
