What type of carb is this?

Can someone tell me what kind of carb is this? All the carbs I see new like at Snyder's and other places have a round base. This one has a square base. Just wondering if its a piece of junk, or should I just let it be.

That looks like a Marvel Schebler carburetor. They were common replacements, but no replacement parts are available. I usually toss them on the aluminum or pot metal pile. One sure identification is if the GAV has a six sided adjuster instead of the half round one that the zenith or tillitsons have.

Look on the back side of the bowl and if the patent number is 1536043 is there than it is a Marvel Schebler.

Still have a Marvel & will not take it apart.

Never even cleaned it.

For nine nine (9) years got 28 miles per gallon with my 1930 coupe using Pan-Am lead free white gas -- gas was clear as water when placed in a glass jar.

Lead free white gas was great in the 1960's & never ruined the Model A steel valves made by Ford & never ruined the original engine valve seats.

This Pan-Am lead tree white gas kept spark plugs & combustion chamber very clean & free of carbon.
