What State

When people need help it would be good to know what state you are in as maybe someone in the area could help. As I would be willing to help anyone in the area that I live in.

Dear petehoovie, Well I hope I don't have to find you for help because I could not find you in the current V8 Times membership roster. Maybe I missed your name or maybe your barn name is not real. At least if you come to Australia you will be able to find me. But I think you are in CA somewhere. Let us know pete, we don't bite ! Regards, Kevin.

The EFV-8 and the Ford Barn are separate entities with no affiliation. Plenty of us are members of one and not the other.

Bill, you make a good point, but some just don't get it very quickly, and then some just may be too paranoid to let folks know approximately where they are located.

yes 35 sedan, and there the ones who complain the loudest and longest that they cant get any help when they need it

Im in Central Maine. Dover Foxcroft to be exact. If i cant hay wire and duct tape it together, I'll find someone who can.

There you go, LOL I always carry a couple metal coat hangers, a bag of different size and color tie straps, masking tape, duct tape, electrical tape, friction tape when I can find it, a large bottle of MMO, and the latest pictures of my four beautiful grandchildren in the top edge of the header panel. They are always watching and reminding me I need to drive safely in this 80 year old car, with no seat belts, mecanical brakes, fogged up original window glass, mecanical fuel pump (no electrical backup), 97 Stromburg Carburetor that I built myself 10 years ago with the help of Uncle Max and Ken Isidor and so on and so forth. What's this got to do with the State I am from?? I have no eye deer :D, but I am damn proud to tell everyone that I am from the beautiful State of Maryland!!

Because, if you ever find yourself on the loneliest road in the world, a California boy can buy a Maryland boy a cup of java.

If any of you people are down under in New Zealand - you're most welcome to call in.

Amen to that Alan! That cup of coffee was significant in keeping this ol' boy awake and alert on that Lonely Higway and on into California in 2010. Then on the way back after driving through the Giant Redwoods my good friend Brendan, from Santa Rosa, bought me another cup, or did I buy him one, can't remember now after 5, going on 6 years passing. I was hoping to buy you a cup at Lake Tahoe, but you got sick on us, and unfortunately couldn't make that one. I am so glad I got to see my friend Trevor House there at Tahoe one last time.

Swoop, now that's a very nice offer! It has been my wish to get back down your way again some day after spending some RnR time there in Australia, Hobart Tasmania, and New Zealand during the early days of the Vietnam War era. I was so amazed so see so many Early Ford V-8's still on the road at that time.

" ... but some just don't get it very quickly"

Just keep reminding yourself that this is an ON-LINE Ford flathead forum.

As much as some guys want to make it a "club," there are hundreds, maybe thousands, of members who are not interested in being part of another club.

The "need help" issue is bogus. I've never seen anyone post who needed help on the road that didn't get the full support of the board whether or not they had their home location in their profile.

I like locations in the profiles but accept that it IS optional.

I may be new to flatheads but certainly not new to cars. Been working on them all my life and am now a retired dealership technician with more tools and equipment than one man can possibly use. I`ve got a 1500 sq ft shop with a lift and a car trailer to help with transport if anyone needs it. I am in the far northeast corner of Oklahoma.

Tommy, how close are you to Tulsa, where the EFV-8C/A will be holding their CNM, June 12-16, 2016?

CSarno- I know where you are, even thou I am in Connecticut. I am from Bangor originally. Many of my relative are in the Howlend and West Enfield area. I have a friend from Dover-Foxcroft who is down here also. That's a nice truck you have in the avatar.

Most of you will find us Okies will most likely go that extra mile ,we have relied on most of the folks from other states in our times of disaster both man made and natural as we also have reciprocated the same for others in those tough times, all you have to do is ask. We will do our best!

Nice Barry. Not sure how you ended up in Ct from Bangor, but I won't judge. :D. If your friend from Dover Foxcroft was here long, they would probably recognize my last name. My family has been here forever.
My shop is the old Brothers Chevrolet dealership just north of Foxcroft Academy.
