what spark plug wire brand/set is best?

If you later need to suppress ignition noise, you simply need to replace the coil wire to the distributor with a suitable length of spiral wound ignition cable. When I went back to points and copper on my 58A/B, it killed my radio. The short piece to the coil completely fixed the problem, without imposing the added resistance of having all spark plug wires of the suppression variety.

drolston,
Your above post is a golden nugget of info.
So, based on what you said, it is possible to use copper core wires on the spark plugs and use a spiral wound plug wire from the coil to the distributer and everything will work fine.
Correct?

You put thousands of dollars into rebuilding your engine and then put radio suppression wires on it to lose 10% of the power?????

Listen to tapes, discs or FM in the car and leave the AM radio for home and the daily driver.
More fun and cheaper.

I fought ignition problems with my Pertronix for a year, most of which turned out to be bad connections at the spark plug wire ends (spiral wound required by Pertronix). So I went to points and copper wires all around. Was sad to lose the radio so I did the experiment with a spiral wound wire only for the coil to distributor. Radio fixed and the car has never run better. So, yes it will work fine.

With the 59ab, the "concourse correct" can't a concern.

Kube I think of you as a guy that sticks to "concourse". I understand the reality is we do what works and use some tricks. Being you sorta control what is "history/restoration" in judging events. Your opinion is very valuable.

This is not me trying to start a negative engagement. What is okay, becomes normal and standard. Granted our options of restoration supply are slowing becoming limited or unobtainium.

In 30 years it won't' be hard to convince people a 32 ford came with a sbc. Or at least meet a few that believed it. hahaha Which makes ever more sense to standards or at least to the information that is correct. But we will all mostly likely be dead in 30 yrs. Soooo who cares. haha

I'm not a huge fan of Elon but he has his moments.

He said technology does not multiply by itself. It takes a lot of people working on it constantly. Nothing says it will always get better. We kinda expect it. It takes people wanting to make it better.

If you cut off a little town in the midwest from all contact outside 10 miles. There would be no internet or cellphones. Plumbing yes. But less the local blacksmith kid invents computer science in a epitome, it all goes away.... maybe a utopia to. But the world keeps turning.

40 years ago I thought fancy tech would be the death of mankind, and I believe it more now than ever

In the 50's they thought rock and roll was the end. Na Cas, that's a narcissist perception, you log in here every night. How ya doing? Man might survive in a form in the future. But it won't end completely most likely. Not tomorrow or in 100yrs. Maybe in 10,000.

There is some studies on AI and social media that are interesting. Based on that we are in an interesting curve of information processes. Meaning can the average human process the information given to them. Or do they go down a rabbit hole. If you only look at one thing the algorithm will send you more.

As George Carlin said... Save the planet? who do we think we are? Are we so conceited. The earth isn't going anywhere.... we are. Maybe made us because they wanted plastic. hahaha. We are recipients of the earth to be stewards. Some say from god. Think personally we think about it as right to abuse now, not a gift. Hard to live without it. Probably doesn't hurt to plant a tree or whatever. Your Hippie dippy weatherman. hahaha

It's all speculation by masses that are not going to be here in 100 yrs. Look locate and make things better for all and your environment.

My favorite George Carlin quote " its a big club, and you aint in it" . more true today than when he said it

Always been there. Just think about tiger woods 20 years ago... we get what we elect in. It's the best we have to offer I guess. Of the people, by the people, for the people. hahaha

Watching a doc on drugs. 120k people in America dead from drug overdose last yr. We blame other countries and people. But it's a consumer based industry. Demand creates supply. The drug war has never been effective. I've been around a lot of crap over the yrs. Never have I thought ya I should do fentanyl. What makes people consider doing it or some other things. I get a few things. But doing a drug that will kill you eventually. Maybe people as a whole are not all that smart.

Ohhh spark plugs wires can be a personal choice. Depends on what you want aesthetically and performance wish.

I really like the set I bought for my '34 about a year and a half ago from Third Gen. They look good and fit perfectly and the engine runs great with them.

I believe Third Gen gets theirs from Tyree Harris. I gave a set of Tyree's plug wires to my dad for his '32 with a 59AB. They sure did look well made.
