I got this in a large lot of mostly Model A parts. I have not figured this one out. Who knows what it is?

doesn't look like any AA part in familiar with - looks too light to be a tow bar...I'm going with early possibly model t spare tire holder. The left side has hands that look to be tire width and would match the ID of a bare tire or the old like dodge Chevy hoop and tire. The right side looks adjustable to snug up against said tire/ hoop and tire.
I remember seeing pictures of old teens cars that only had a spare tire mounted on the side with no rim

I agree with spare tire carrier. Look at the two ends of the Y and how they can cradle the rim. The two empty holes probably held the clamp for the other side of the rim.

That is a spare tire carrier for a car with demountable rims (as stated above for a Model T or similar car). I have one as well. It is off a Kari-Keen trunk. The bracket to attach it to the trunk is at the top (lower RH corner of the photo). I am sure someone can use it. Do not throw it away.
