Was told this might have been for closed cars seats?
Marked "VT FORD 863" and has a white backing that is coming loose, looks like the white backing was adhered with a brown dust that might have been glue many years ago.
So what is this? Model A? something else?

My guess would be modern Ford products. That type of upholstery fabric was real popular during the 1980s.
OH, ok. It came from a vintage warehouse i was hoping it was old and have never seen glue turn to brown dust in such a short time. i guess you would know best though.

My 92 Explorer is only 5 years away from being able to display "Antique" license plates. WOW!

What you have is "glue up" headliner material from the 80s and or 90s. If you want to research further find a quality auto trim shop and ask if they have a factory match up book. Don't try to match the fabric. Look for the number that is printed on the back of what you have. The yellow "stuff" is one of two things. Either a bit of spray contact cement or rotting foam rubber d-laminating from the fabric. My frank opinion..........pitch it.;)
