What is the HAMB site

Why would anyone want to read the thread that George Miller posted about how to make a cylinder head for his model A from a single chunk of aluminum? Equally as mundane is the thread where the guy makes a complete steering wheel for his car from a billet chunk of aluminum. Who would want to read through that when there is the episode of Sanford and Son on, It's the one where Grady gets married, I'm comin Lizabeth!

Could we just all agree to declare this thread dead and move on to more important things - like Early V8 Fords. I'm sure oldford knows more about the H.A.M.B now then he ever wanted to.

As for the Prom thread, if they would have stayed on topic, it would still be open, not your fault, still kinda sux. I was trying to get my daughter (she's a hamber too) to post up her Prom story from this year.

I'm beginning to understand. It wasn't that my thread was off-topic, it was the graphic nature of one of the last posts that got the thread closed. Seems a strange way to handle the situation.

Years ago I was a member of the Hamb site. I thought I knew what traditional meant and took a hardline on my opinion. As time went by I started to become louder and louder about trash talking ratrods, engines newer then 1964 in old iron and so-on. One day I trashed on one of the owners articles. I loved the article and said it supported what I thought traditional hotrodding was all about. I guess I came across to strong and I was accused of swimming in the wake of the articles feedback. Since that time I've developed some differing opinions and have realized hotrodding and old cars in general are what it's all about. It's not important what you drive or how you build it. It's important that you enjoy it. I've been at this for over 50 years and love every minute of it. So I was thrown off the HAMB indefinitely and I miss it. It was a great place to meet friends and gather information. So take warning. They're not kidding when they say they won't take grief from their members. Join them and enjoy their company. There are a great bunch of guys over there.

That 80,000 I think has more than doubled now. Chatting with Dennis Kolodziej and Dave Lyall on T-bolts has been a highlight of the HAMB for me. Just got to seek out the good stuff, and ignore the rest. But for classified ads, if you have a part you want to see on a restoration, I'd post it here: http://www.fordbarn.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=6
If you have a Fenton 2x2 for sale, you could give it to me, or post it on the HAMB classifieds.

I will say the HAMB isn't like it was years ago.

And, no I don't own a hot rod.

My 2 cents on this. I a self-described Old School gray beard.Hot rodder. Been a car guy since I built my first model car in '55. Old and antique has always been interesting. Fords have always been interesting. I DRIVE A traditional Ford hot rod, as almost daily transportation, so I guess that makes me hard core. It was built by friend Geoff in 2002-2003 but still looks like it came out of a barn after 50 years as a hot rod. It won't change much from here on except to keep road worthy. Sure would love a bone stock 32 or 40 coupe, but at the prices today I'll be dead before I can afford one!
I belong to both the Barn and the Hamb. I also find, buy and sell old Ford parts, to both groups. When I find good original stuff I offer it to the Ford Barners, because I know how hard it can be to find good stuff to finish restorstions, but you have to understand regarding traditional hot rodding that keeping that tradition alive is just as important so the Hamb guys deserve to get the better stuff too. And my car would still not be on the road if it wasn't hot rodded because nobody wanted it as a stocker to restore!
Don"t forget that as soon as there were 2 cars on the planet there was racing, and going faster was always a priority even in the beginning. If you are really honest, almost everybody modifies their car in some way or another. So hot rodders will always be there in one form or another. It's still a big world with room for everybody so just keep driving and enjoy life! Best to all!

and the non chevy guys are a lot of the old original barners so theres a lot of info on there also

=========================================================

"52 Merc"..... YOU ARE ALL MIXED UP..............Don't you understand
that "junkosc" 's FIRST COMPETE POST is a copy of the HAMB site's rules,
and he was just posting them to let the original poster know what
the rules on the HAMB site are.

You have a big chip on your shoulders, about the HAMB and
the New FORD BARN sites, and you are confused about both,
and just stirring the pot to stink things up on both sites.

You're WRONG, IF you think that bashing these sites, on most of your
posts on the "Chevy Barn" is going to bring EVERYONE BACK to the
OLD Ford Barn site, Now known as "Chevy Barn", then you are in la-la land !!!!!!

I like the Chevy Barn too, Where Your Screen Name is (TREV ), but your bashing
these other sites, on your posts over there all the time, is not getting you anywhere.

GET OVER IT

ALL the sites have something good to offer, if you want to look for it,
SO Either " LOVE 'EM OR LEAVE 'EM ", but stop your diatribe !!!
