What is going on here

Rowdy, I've seen these tins sell at Southern California swaps in the $20 to $25 range. It's e-bay, so there could be many different reasons why these bidders want to spend that much. Time to list yours to pay for that engine work.

My thoughts for sure. Did not get back from the farm early enough to get pic's for listing things this week. Was pretty dark and did not want to drag things in and out of the shop. Supposed to have a nice weekend coming up, so a bunch will be listed. Rod

Rowdy. Just my opinion, but if i had one of those i would keep it on the work bench or? Just to throw a couple old plugs in it or the keys to you car or zerk fitting etc. Just a neat looking small item i think. Mark.

I appriciate your opinion. I have many neat things to stumble around in the shop. Need to generate cash for motor rebuild, bathroom remodel and hospital bill. That and to make some space. Been moving things from the old parts barn the newer building which is slightly bigger. Still have way too much poorly stored and a bunch of stuff not hauled home yet. Had some things happen over the summer that consumed too much time so am having to do alot of this with winter fast approaching. By the way who's bright idea was it to move daylight savings time? For a person that works second shift this was a bad move that allows me less time to get things done. Was not light enough to do anything outside til nearly 8:30 this am. Rod

Rowdy: I recently sold one at a swap meet for $125., BUT Mine had 4 NOS C-4's with original sleeves, in it. Best regards...

Rowdy. I know the feeling about getting rid of things. I have to many things ratholed and if something ever happened to me my poor wife wont know where to start to get rid of stuff. I hope your engine rebuild works out as i am sure it will. And i agree with the time change. Not my favorite either. Good luck. Mark.

I have the same box and was pretty impressed when that auction ended!
The "good junk" has been piling up around here too, but the last few things I sold on ebay consumed an enormous amount of time:(... just clarifying the new automated shipping confusion & running back and forth to the post office... it seems hardly worth it unless you have small, high end items.
I don't get it how folks selling 5 & 15 dollar items can make it worthwhile. After all the fee's and running around surely they'd be better off cruising the ditches for bottles & cans!

Here's another Champion tin on ebay...but in rougher cond.

all depends on how you manage it and what your expectations are.

normally I do not list anything that I don't feel will bring a $5 opening bid.
I allow myself 3 days for shipping and handling, that assures me that I will almost always be driving past a post office within that time period, so no special trips.

on rare items listed for less, such as the little DCPD logo bolt I just sold, I specify in the shipping notes that if final bid is under $5, I will NOT make a special trip to the post office until another item sells.

not trying to make a living at it, just trying to offset the cost of parts and tools I'm frequently buying. every now and then an item surprises me and goes for big bucks.

as for cruising the ditches, it doesn't seem like an efficient use of my time; but we save all aluminum cans we find in the normal course of life and give them to the local Sons of Norway lodge. we enjoy keeping whatever we can out of the landfills.
