What I saw at the local museum

The local car museum, Gippsland Vehicle Collection, holds a coffee and cars get together once a month. After the latest get together, I dropped in to look at the latest display. The display changes every four months with different themes. This one was local legends. Fordbarn is not normally about boats, but I thought, pictures of a boat, why not.

With that long custom shift lever and the apparent clutch linkage on the right-hand side, I almost believe that the person who made that boat wanted to shift gears.

I know almost nothing about boat propellors, but for airplanes the invention of practical variable pitch props in the 1920s increased the performance and efficiency. WWII military aircraft and luxury private aircraft today use automatic constant-speed prop drives that change the angle of the blades automatically to keep the speed of the engine in its most powerful and efficient range.
