What are these??

I have a question about some parts on a frame. There are two small brackets riveted to the frame one on each side just in front of the cowl brackets and a large block that looks like it had a 1 inch bar sticking through it, this is also riveted to the frame just behind the motor mount, but only on the driver side. Anyone know what these are? I have attached two pictures of the mistery brackets.

I think they are what is left of the spare tire rod that has been cut off.

The pressed steel brackets are for the brake rod anti rattlers/return springs. The other is the spare tire mount for a 30-31.Shuttlebuggy's right, the post has been cut off.If you look on the inside there will be a nut to take off, then you can knock out the stub.

Thanks, That goes along with the body that I got with this frame. Its a late 1931 pickup. I have moved the body to another frame (date unknown) But may move it back now that I know that this is the correct period frame for the body. This is my first build and am using many different parts from many different sources. Mostly getting unwanted parts from hotrodders. I just want to build a vehicle to drive and have fun with. No trailer queen. I have been restoring old tractors for many years now and thought that this was the next step. I have posted some pictures as purchased and as progressing.
Thanks Again

Walter

If that visor went to it that is not a late 31,the late 31's has an all steel top with the visor one piece with the roof. You also have a 30 front fender, but it will all fit and you won't know the difference going down the road. When you go to bolt the cab down you may find that the mount at the door post has two holes, but only one will line up.That is normal.I have one 30 that came that way,and one early 31 that is the same. So,don't panic thinking you fixed up a bunch of wrong parts.

I did notice that only one of the cowl bracket holes line up. Yes the fenders are from a 1930 tudor. But I am not going to use them in the finished truck. I have a complete set of fenders, running boards and splash sheilds form a 31 truck all in fiberglass. The doors are from a fordor sedan, they are Briggs I beleive, lots of wood in them. I say late 31 because of the teardrop recess in the fire wall for the gas line. And that should be May 31 - Aug 31? Also should have a wide box, but I have a narrow one to use. I am going to put a steel roof on then put a vinyl top on to look like the old roof. My biggest obstacle I beleive to going to be titling it here in MD.

I beleive that the cab was a pickup, with a proper cab back and cowling that had the fodor doors used. Remember I bought this from a hotrodder that had compiled these parts together. I just refined the fit to look better. The cab will be 1 inch shorter due to these doors. But when done knowone should be able to tell.

I had a 31 PU & found it was a tight fit for a skinny guy like me.If the cab was 1" shorter,I wouldnt have fit in it at all! Find the correct PU or Tudor doors & even then you may need to have a thinner than std back rest.

Columbia is right not a lot of room in there . Find tudor sedan doors !!! You have plenty to work on till you find them

Good Luck with it
