What Are These?

I bought a pile of tools from someone recently. In that pile were a few items I didn’t initially see and now trying to figure out what they are. I think I know what one item is (the item on the right), but not sure about the other item (left). I think the right item (knob and brass fitting) are for holding the oil pump when you remove the oil pan while still in the car. Am I correct? If so glad to have it, if not, what is it?

The other item (left) is like a cap you would screw on something, then possibly use the cap to protect it while you hammer on it? I say that because it looks dented on the other end from the screw cap part. Anybody know?

I believe that the silver hex unit is used to remove the fan from the water pump shaft. It is screwed on to the end of the shaft and a hammer is used on it to remove the fan.
