What are these two lower studs used for on the firewall of a '41 pickup?

I can send a couple of photos but the one on the right side is where the braided battery cable goes from the battery, the other looks like it may be the back side of the e brake.

I don't know for sure what they are for but as I said in the earlier post the right one appears to be the spot that the battery strap is attached to ( at least on my truck ). Since mine is an unrestored original this was the location for that. The post on the other side on mine still has paint on it showing that it has not been used. I would like to know also if anyone has any other ideas or photographs showing the reason for these studs.

On my 41 there was still the remnant end of a very old battery ground strap bolted to the rh stud. There was nothing on the lh one, don't know what it is there for.

I believe they are both grounding locations. Your truck was previously grounded in a non-factory location.

On my 41 P/U on the left one, I have an "L" shaped piece of stamped steel that is attached permanently to the bottom stud (either with a large rivet or maybe it is a stove bolt that has the nut on the other side of the cowel) The other hole goes to the top stud and is secured with a nut.
The purpose of this steel shaped piece is to secure the battery.

The one on the right side holds the wireing harness.
