What are these brackets?

Below is a picture of some brackets under the hood of my 1950 F-3. They are located on the driver’s side fender wall. Can anyone tell me what they are for? I assume they maybe for a jack of some type.

They are not factory. Your jack is stored on the passenger side inside the cab below the filler neck. You'll see a fine threaded hole for the thumb screw to go thru the base of the jack and into the floor. If you're restoring, take them off and weld the holes shut.

the brackets look aftermarket, you can use them to mount an overflow tank or fire horn. Function is good.

I looked through the whole Ford F Series Shop Manual and could not find anything that would mount there. At first I thought it was for air brakes but the compressor is located on the passenger side. Only the F-8's had that option choice.

Did the truck ever have a snow plow on it ?

Thank you all for your help.

Richard & Barry: I’m not sure what I’m going to do with these brackets. It’s just looks odd with them being there with nothing connected.

Toby: You may be on to something. The truck has an extra vacuum hose that is plugged off. It was a larger hose like you might find on power brake system.

Merc40: The truck was never a fire truck. A horn bracket is possible.

Bob: I’m not sure about an aftermarket oil filter.
1931: I’m not sure what a Top Oiler is. I’ll do some research.

Jim: I don't believe the truck was ever in snow country. it was built in Atlanta and I have no indications she ever left the South.

You all came up with some good ideas. I’m not sure but believe they are aftermarket.

I get a little lost looking at the picture. Maybe it should be rotated 90 degrees CCW? Then, you'd be looking down at the frame rail and back towards the firewall?

If the truck had a bigger vac line plugged off, chances are the engine is from a F-4 or larger. They had a large port vac line going to a valve that bolted to the firewall ( 2 nut inserts vertically on the firewall near the center ) and a metal line went down to the booster underneath the drivers side. I know those brackets are not stock. I've ripped apart quite a few of these trucks and have NEVER seen anything like those. They're not for a horn as the stock horn is in front of the radiator and the optional long trumpets were bolted inside the hood sides.
