What are these brackets/steps?

These were found in a barn about 30 years ago and I saved them from the scrap pile. What are they? They appear to be step brackets for something and were attached to wood I presume because the bolts are still present and appear to have not been loosed. Are they from a T or are they just random?

These are carriage steps for the horse drawn carriages. Before running boards, early cars of 1900 used them for a while too. Locomobile, Mobile and more used them. These carriage steps are still quite common because they were built to last, unlike today's modern cars are built.

I have some that are similar that were on a horse drawn buggy. Since you have four matching steps, I would say yours came from a horse drawn carriage, with the two seats.
