water pumps

I have to have some one else do the work for me cause I cant do it any more that why I'm doing this so hope I don't have any trouble on the road

I don't think some shop don't want to wait for the pump to be rebuilt

I'm trying to not to have trouble on the side of the road I'm trying to run the car as much as I can to put some miles on it to see what I need to look at else

Haste makes waste. I find people in a BIG hurry create more problems. G.M.

Dennis Carpenter has them for $125 a pair. These are new pumps manufactured by them. I have used his pumps and they worked perfect.

I spoke to Dennis Carpenter personally, about the water pumps he offers, during a tour of his manufacturing facility in 2015. He does not manufacturer these water pumps. They are made off shore, most likely in China. Probably the same manufacturer who's making them for Speedway, Bob Drake, and other companies selling them here in the USA.

They may be made off shore but, what isn't? The DC pumps looked good to me. The DC pump is the black one.

Understandable. I'd have the shop install new ones from whoever you decide. Then have Skip rebuild the old ones as spares to carry along on your trip just in case. Jack E/NJ

I have tore flatheads apart were the water pump was rotting away about half on the fins I have know if these been changed or not they don't look like they have been I know the tank on the rad is leaking not in a seam right up on the top so I have to do something with that at the same time

That certainly sounds like a good plan.

Another possibility might be to find someone here who will sell you a good set of core pumps, maybe have them mail cores directly to Skip Haney for you, and you send funds to Skip for rebuild and return mailing. Skip does a fantastic job on rebuilding water pumps, and his turn around time is unbelievably fast. I've probably had six sets of water pumps and 4 or 5 coils rebuilt/rewound by him. I can honestly say, I would not leave the end of my driveway without one of his coils on my car, and a set of his pumps either on the car, or in with the spare parts I carry.

he was going to check for me and call me today I might of found a set of pumps I will find out on Saturday
you cant just go into to and buy parts for these old cars that is why you need to do some maintenance on them before you go if would be different story if I drove the car for a year or so but just buying it with no knowing how it is
