water pumps. Skip or Speedway

I am removing the radiator from my 35 with 59AB engine.. so will upgrade the water pumps at the same time.. plan is to send a set to Skip, but wanted to ask if anyone has experience with the "new and improved" pumps from Speedway.

Carpenter also sells "new and improved" type pumps and I would go with them before Speedway. FWIW: I have Merc OCM pumps rebuilt by Skip on my 8ba and have had no issues. Sorry but no actual experience on new pumps from any vendor.

Go with Skip and never look back. New spiral impellers and paint. He does and excellent job and gives you new gaskets. These are 8RT wide belt pumps on 8CM engine. Last photo shows home made coil bracket bolted to water pump.

FYI, all 8BA era pumps came from the factory with spiral impellers.
I first encountered Speedway pumps 20+ years ago soon after they came to market. I was impressed with the new castings, sealed bearings, and ceramic seal. I have never had a problem with them, and know of a car with a set that is now 20 years old and still working well. I have also had friends sent off pumps to Skip for rebuilding, both a head mounted water pump set for a 36 and a Lincoln-Zephyr set for a V12, and have been impressed with Skip's work both times. I think you will be fine with either decision.
