i dont know how many of you guys ever addressed the idea of waterpump shaft end play yet or not , but after getting her running again this year here in the midwest i watched the engine run . as i was veiwing , i noticed the pump shaft going in and out a lot... now i know how to fix it . from getting a longer shaft,and setting the end play that way , to buying from the vendors, a collar that goes behind the pulley..... now im a lazy dude, and didnt want to go to all that work ,just to enjoy my ride a little before i go to my jobs out of town... so i looked around for a split collar. one that i could install without all the trouble... well i got them in today... just got done installing it , and i think its goint to work fine. i was worried the fan would hit the radiator.. man that wouldnt be cool......it took about ten min. to put in ,once i figgered out to poke my finger up in the hole in bottom of water pump casting to hold the lower half, wilst i put on the top half. then put in the socket head screws... looks pretty good too.......... now i purchased about 1/2 dozen. im going to use 2. anybody need one ? ille send you one for $9. chrome plated, stainless screws and all. shipped to your door... just drop me a personal line , and ill get back to you.... till i run out ...thanks ford barn guys...kev
