Water pump question

I’m having a senior moment. I can’t remember which direction to turn to loosen the water pump packing nut. Your assistance please.

The nut will only loosen in one direction. CCW from the front.

Guys:
You are making this too hard. Make your right hand into a fist with your thumb pointing out. Now place you fist against the stud, bolt, etc with the thumb facing the direction you want the nut to go. Your fingers will tell you which direction to turn the nut, etc. Now wasn't that easy and easy to remember? Learned this in a physics class in junior college I think!

Perspective, as viewed from where. In aircraft, these questions are resolved from the view of the plane as seen from the pilot's seat looking forward through the windscreen. This does not apply when referring to the propeller????

I was advised some time back, that an automobile is similar. CW, CCW, left, right, etc. are defined as seen from the driver's seat looking through the windshield. LOL
