Mike, I don't no one fan from the other. Is this an original? Should I just buy a new leak-less W/P and a new fan?

These leak less pumps are more bullet proof than the suppliers units. If your doing it do it right, you get what u pay for

I ordered a new pump and fan from Bert's. I did get it apart. The fan blade looks real good. No cracks. Is it original? It had some old rope type packing with a few layers of the lead packing on top of that.

Your fan is a late 31 original fan and is an improvement over the earlier version. With the single thickness blades it can't trap water and create rust. I'm still using the earlier version of the original fan, but the new aluminum fans are safer and the ones I've checked are well balanced.
