Water pump not pumping

Kevin, The pump does not pump as in a water pump it just circulates the water, If the impeller , shat etc is turning & nothing restricting the water flow then its working, you are not going to see a gush of water . as there is clearances around the impeller. & hot water rises, Use the collar that vedors sell to set end float. as Tom states . If all does not quive you pease of mind have another Model A guy look , Spring in NZ

Dennis bought a Model A & the WHOLE block & head were FULL of cotton & crap from MICE!!! Take yo' hoses off & poke a garden hose in the upper goose neck.

Kevin, Quickchange is right. I have 2 Model T's and neither have a water pump at all. Both run cool and the touring made a week worth of touring in Utah and the Grand Canyon last July. You have something wrong elsewhere, I would find a good pump and try it for comparison.

The key is good and shaft is turning, is there a thermostat behind the elbow on the side of the engine? I don't have an "in hose" thermostat.

The thermostat should be in the upper hose above the water pump. It might not ever open if it is in the radiator discharge side, thus no water flow.

Just my W.A.G. at the problem
