Water pump bolts leaking

Just finished soldering the bracket on the radiator and decided to fillerup and one of the top new bolts (fake stud look-alikes) seems to be dripping.

I seem to remember the top two bolts seemed to go into the water pump housing. Was I supposed to use some kind of sealer on the threads?

Good news is everything else seems tight and the soldering on the radiator went great.

I think only one of the holes goes all the way through. If I remember correctly, I just wrapped the top-left bolt with teflon tape and haven't had any leaks.

Bolt seems to have stopped leaking so far.

Has anyone else had an issue with a new top hose being barely long enough? I almost don't want to use it.

A 29/ 29 hose is shorter than a 30/ 31 hose. Could it be a 28/ 29 one. I don't know what year of car you have, but it could be a possibility.

I stopped using the fake studs due to the fact that the right lower one always seem to leak. What I use is liquid teflon on the bolts and let it set up for a few hours then fill the system.

Its a 31 pickup.

The hose measures around 9 inches so it seems to be the right hose. Its just barely making it. I have no idea what could be off to cause this. The hood fits tight at the top.

*sigh*

Have a 28-29 gooseneck on the waterpump. Why is it everything I fix, something else breaks in the process :)

Permatex #2 on that bolt worked for me, too. BTW, I was a cheapskate and made my own fake studs by crazy-gluing nuts on the end of some ordinary studs.
