where is there a supplier for the wire that comes off of the brushes?this is a multie wire brided like a rope for flexibility.standard wire will not work because it will not let the brush float on the comentator.

Don't know what year or engine you have but you can buy a complete brush set for 38-48 V8 for $4.75 at Mac's.

Any generator or electric motor shop should have it. It is of more strands of finer copper wire to make it more flexable. They would even have a worn out brush set that you could cut the wire from. I just happened to think some welding cable is made for whip leads so the cable is more flexable for the welder. You could remove some of the strands and use them. G.M.

Ask yout parts store for distributor "pig tail" wire. They usually have an assortment box with different sizes.
