I have a '40 COE. Front wheel cylinders are 1 3/8-in straight bore. Ford put an adapter fitting between the WCs and the brake lines- as the WC has a fine-thread 5/8-in female port. Somehow, I misplaced one of mine, and all local searching has turned up nothing. Can't finish my new brake lines/system without this.
In the (Canadian) FoMoCo manual exploded brake drawings for the 1.5- 2- and 3-ton trucks, the part number is 2080. It is a 6-point steel fitting with the appropriate female port for the end of the brake hose, and the 5/8-in male end for the WC port. These seal with the usual copper washers- no inverted flare ends or such.
Another item I would like to find is the 'grease shields' : the circular steel pieces that the backing plate bolts go thru to the spindle, that I guess help keep bearing grease off the brake shoes. In the manual these are part number 2240. Both of my front ones are partially rusted away on the bottom.
Anyone have a source for these??
