Reasonably priced rebuildable, "B" carberator. Zenith side bowl? Educate me please. Contact me by email at ivoryboat@gmail.com

I am putting together a touring engine and I understand the magic combination is a "B" grind on the cam, a 5.5 high compression head and a "B" carb for more air. I got the other two.

Thanks
John

If you use a "B" carb, try to use a "B" intake also. As stated in another thread the "A" intake is smaller than the "B" and you wind up with a rich mix and not using the full potenial of the "B" carb. You will find a "B" carb is touchier to set up in my opionion. JB

Will a "B " manifold bolt right up to an A model exhaust manifold and are they real rare? What about linkage and and choke rod adaptability? I had dreams about a whole series of issues to overcome hooking up a "B" carb. I have never seen one but have heard about fuel pumps and side bowls.

A B intake manifold (stock) will set the carburetor at an angle and the A choke rod will not line up properly.
Have a A intake throat machined out to the B carburetor size, then you will have no problem with alienment.

I also have a B (1932) carburetor for sale, outright, no exchange; e-mail me at ronrude@digitalpath.net for price.
