I got two 1933 Fords with 4 digit trip odometers (3 black #s and 1 red # for tenths). I'd be happy to trade these 34's odometers for a nice set of 33's.

Hello Doug,

I wish I had a decent speedometer to trade. Unfortunately, as the completion of my '34 restoration got closer, I inspected the speedometer and found an incorrect for a deluxe car 3 digit needing total restoration.
I do appreciate your willingness to help, thank you.

What the difference between 33 and 34 speedos. Always thought they were the same.

According to the EFV8 club's 1933/34 restoration guide on page 6-13, the difference was not so much with year of production, but whether the car was a Deluxe or Standard model. The Deluxe cars had 4 digit trip odometers and Standards had 3 digit.

Walt: I have a nice three digit gold faced speedo, maybe you can trade it to "barn junk" for what you need. I am near S'burg

I noticed in the EFV8 club's restoration guide on the bottom of page J-2 that Ford came out with 4 digit odometers in 1934. I think that one can assume that '33's had 3 digits based upon this comment. ????????

Doug,

Makes things interesting when the same reference manual contradicts itself. Not only the trip odometer, standard vs. deluxe models, year of production, but also face colors. Since the year of production does determine the trip odometer digits, are you still interested in doing something in trade? Thanks for your interest and input.
