wanted: transmission for a V8-60

I'm posting this for a friend that doesn't do computers.


He needs a transmission for an original 1930 Model A. His gears are ok but the shifter mechanism is broken, so either a complete trans or the shifter part is needed.

Of course the closer to Missouri the better, but anything considered.

REVISION: he needs a transmission from a car that had a V8-60 engine.

Well, it took over a month, but I finally got some clarification from the fella who has the car.


He does NOT need a Model A transmission. He needs a V8-60 Transmission. He bought the car not knowing much about it. The Model A engine and transmission had been replaced with a V8-60 engine and matching transmission. It's the V8-60 transmission that is screwed.


He thought he had a Model A transmission connected to a V8-60 engine (which, as I understand it is a near impossibility without extensive machining, if it's even possible at all). When I sent him pix of Model A transmission and V8-60 transmission he immediately realized that he has a V8-60 trans.


He would like to purchase a complete transmission from a V8-60 car.


So very sorry for the confusion. To those who responded to me that I never got back to please accept my apologies. I was trying to get the low down on what he actually needed.


The car is a couple of hours away from me and I've never actually laid eyes on it.
